Choosing Between Burial or Cremation

The decision to bury or cremate your loved one is a personal and important choice. Our staff are here to offer guidance and answer your questions.  Whether you choose a burial or cremation, a funeral service can be held in any of our chapels or a church of your choice. We can also arrange a memorial service to be held at a park, sports or service club, school, beach, private home or other special location.

If you decide on burial, we will liaise with the Sunshine Coast Council Cemeteries Team and assist you choose a site for a new grave or arrange for re-opening an existing grave.  A funeral service can be held in our chapel, followed by a gathering at the graveside, or you can hold a full graveside service. Please note: Cemetery charges are set by the Sunshine Coast Council or relevant local authority.

If you decide on cremation, it will take place at Gregson & Weight’s own facilities. Ashes are available for collection within 24-48 hours after a cremation or we can hold the ashes in safe-keeping for a short time, until you are ready to collect them.

We have memorial placements available in columbarium niche walls and garden plots for the internment of ashes at Caloundra, Buderim and Nambour, as well as a dedicated RSL Veterans Wall at our Buderim premises.
